Do you know what tonsil stones are? If you are reading this you probably do, even if you did know they were even called tonsil stones or tonsilloliths (the technical term). I have had to live with these things for way too long and had a lot of symptoms resulting from them. Not only was my throat irritated and scratchy all the time, but it also seemed like I could never clear my throat correctly.
When I first noticed these tonsilloliths on my throat I really had no clue what they were and just wanted to get rid of them. Then when I found out that they were actually little pieces of food I had eaten it grossed me out even more. I never had my tonsils removed and so these little balls of yellow found nice little lodging places in my throat.
I would often be seen picking at these yellow balls of mush with my tongue. This method did not work very well and it would often just break the stone and embed the rest of it even deeper into my tonsils. But there really is not a good way to get rid of one of these things once it lodges itself in your throat. I would use objects and even my fingers, but that would cause major irritation in my throat that was even worse that the stone itself. A syringe seemed to do a decent job, but even that would not always be able to squirt out those horrible yellow balls of bacteria.
Although they are not harmful to ones life, there really is nothing good about a tonsil stone. But the smell is what really drove me to do something about this problem. I did not realize how bad they smelled until I had taken some of them out. This was the main cause of my bad breath and it was not going to covered up with some Scope. No matter how minty fresh my gum was, it was not strong enough to cover the horrible smell of a single tonsil stone.
There have been some herbal remedies that people have tried and some people really swear by them. I have even read where people claim to have been cured by these natural remedies and never have problems with tonsil stones again. And even if these methods work a little bit it might save you from having your tonsils removed.
Find some creative methods how people are treating this ailment with tonsil stones remedies.
